ICC forum on race, inequality and policing set for Thursday

State Rep. Jehan Gordon-Booth; Peoria City Manager Patrick Urich; Thomas Patton, federal public defender for the Central District of Illinois; and the Rev. Deveraux Hubbard of St. Paul Baptist Church are among the panelists for a town hall on "Race, Inequality and Policing" to be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Manual Academy, 811 S. Griswold.

Part of Illinois Central College's lecture series, the forum is sponsored by ICC's criminal justice program. Marwin Spiller, associate dean of social sciences at ICC, will moderate.

ICC professors William Feipel, who teaches economics, and Anthony White and Nick Graff, both in the criminal justice program, will also serve on the panel. Graff is also former police chief of Morton.

Other panelists include Peoria City Councilwoman Beth Jensen, Bradley University associate professor and Director of Social Work Portia Adams, and Journal Star Executive Editor Dennis Anderson.
